Sun Microsystems threatens lawsuits on use of Java trademark

Javanco Enterprises has a web page that Sun Microsystems claimed infringed on their trademarks. Sun Microsystems attorneys sent a letter to Mr. Javan Keith demanding that he quit using his given name of "Javan".

On June 17, 1996, Network World ran an article on the Javanco situation, based on information supplied from EFGA. Nashville EFGA members will be happy to hear Sun Microsystems has since issued a public apology to Javanco. Finally, Java backed down. Read Java's Apology to Javanco.
